The Los Angeles Lakers had a quite offseason, and now we have people speculating over Kawhi Leonard’s potential deal with the team.
Is Kawhi Leonard really interested in signing a deal with the Lakers? The world of basketball is quiet, too. But, fans are already talking about the next offseason. Yes, it’s the time of the year everybody expects. Trade deals, switched teams, and departures.
The Lakers had a pretty exciting offseason. They landed LeBron James! Most fans thought that Magic Johnson would sign in two All-Stars, but LeBron took the main stage.
The Lakers have King James, and will probably aim to snap their playoff drought in the next season. The team did a good job fixing their roster, and getting as much talent as they can. But, LeBron was the only NBA star to sign a four-year contract.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Kawhi Leonard may join the Lakers in 2019 after becoming a free agent.
The San Antonio Spurs traded Kawhi to the Toronto Raptors this offseason. Well, he didn’t want to play with the Spurs, and the Raptors did their best to get him. But, Kawhi will become a free agent at the end of the season.
Magic Johnson and Rob Pelinka will have to take care of the team’s cap flexibility. Rajon Rondo, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Michael Beasley, JaVale McGee and Lance Stephenson were added to the team, and they will stay in Los Angeles for a year.
The Lakers will have cap space again, and LeBron James will sure help them get another superstar. Kawhi’s interested in playing with the team could help the team’s management to put everything together. Does this make him a priority number one next offseason? Of course!
