Boy Diagnosed With Brain Cancer Meets Football Star Rob Gronkowski

Gronk is the best. It’s a fact. The former Patriots tight end is much more than someone who used to win Super Bowls and bring life to parties. Rob Gronkowski will be remembered as the Patriots player who donates money to children’s hospitals. That’s not all. Gronk even visits these children, and spends some time with them. John Hoague-Rivette is one of them. The 10-year-old is diagnosed with brain cancer, and he got the surprise of his life. Gronk and John met as part of the Make-a-Wish Foundation.

John is a student at Whitehall Elementary. Two months ago, he was diagnosed with grade 3 glioma tumor on his brain stem.

John’s mom, Carrie Jean, couldn’t hide her emotions, and words couldn’t express her gratitude.

This isn’t the first time Gronk does something for children with serious diagnoses. He even shaves his head!

“Did you hear the birthday Buzz? 8th time buzzing for kids with cancer, and it’s their 10th birthday! Happy birthday One Mission, thanks for the sweet summer cut,” Gronk wrote to remind everybody about his mission.

In 2018, Gronk buzzed his head, too. He’s been doing that for eight years.

“I was a little nervous,” Gronk said last year. “I was just hoping they didn’t get me bleeding on the back with the buzzer, but they didn’t, so it’s all good.

“They’re coming out here, supporting their friends, supporting other kids, the parents, the families, the friends,” Gronk said. “It’s bringing everyone together. It’s just a great cause, and it’s great to be a part of.”

Gronk likes children, and children like Gronk. He used some of his free time to be part of the Kids Camp.

“Weekend was a hit! Had a blast with all the kids at my annual camp! Very grateful for all the kids coming out with so much energy, intensity, readiness to learn, and most important, having fun!! Thank you to my family, friends and all the coaches for coming out and helping with the camp. It was a pleasure teaching and playing some football again with all the wild young bucks out there! Keep working hard and staying active out there!”

When it comes to other Gronk-related news, there’s a growing speculation regarding Gronk’s return.
