Chris Long Cracks Bill Belichick Joke After Panthers Officially Release Cam Newton

The Carolina Panthers cut ties with Cam Newton on Tuesday, and he may easily end up in New England. Are the New England Patriots even interested in signing the three-time Pro Bowl selection? Newton’s days with the Panthers were numbered after the organization signed Teddy Bridgewater to a nice deal in free agency. The Panthers tried to work out deals for Newton with a pair of teams. This left the quarterback free to sign with any NFL team. Is Bill Belichick interested in getting Cam Newton?

Foxboro makes some sense as a landing spot for the quarterback. The New England Patriots will have to address their quarterback topic now that Tom Brady is gone. Brady left the organization after two decades. He left a huge void behind. Hopefully, head coach Bill Belichick will have to find a solution to this problem. Chris Long decided to crack a joke, and it has something to do with the Patriots head coach and Newton.

If by any chance you don’t know, Newton has a reputation for using a bizarre font on social media. He used it as he clapped back at his team. The Panthers made a public announcement for Newton’s trade availability.

Will Bill Belichick bring Cam Newton to New England?

Coach Belichick may not be familiar with Newton’s font preference. Yes, you probably know that the head coach doesn’t use SnapFace or InstaChat. Belichick isn’t the guy who uses apps to stay in touch with people. But, can you imagine him getting a message from Newton? That would be crazy.

Even more crazy is the fact that the Patriots need a quarterback right now. They have Jarrett Stidham as a top option at the moment, but Belichick may not trust his rookie in September. Although he was a great pick for the Pats, Belichick needs a stronger hand on the field.

The Patriots will play without Brady for the first time in two decades. But, Devin McCourty is positive about the team’s future. He knows that the Patriots can handle the upcoming season despite Brady’s absence. Of course, Brady will be missed, but the Patriots sure have a backup option at the moment. Will Belichick bring another quarterback to the team?
