Quarterback Tom Brady is taking his talent to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. TB12 decided to leave the Patriots after 20 years. What made Brady go south? He really liked the Patriots. Brady and head coach Bill Belichick won six Super Bowls together.

According to Page Six, Brady left the Patriots because of his son.

Brady has a son with his ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan. He took into consideration other teams farther from New York City. However, Brady decided to stay in Florida and be close to his 12-year-old son.

“It was between three teams and he’s going with the Buccaneers. They’ll likely announce it on Thursday or Friday,” the source said. “A lot of [the reason for his choice] had to do with proximity to New York. Jack lives in New York and [Brady] wants to be close to his son.”

The Los Angeles Chargers were also an option for the star quarterback.

TB12 announced he was leaving the Pats on Tuesday. He won six rings with the team and earned a lot of honors during his time in Foxboro.

“I don’t know what the future holds, but it is time for me to open a new stage for my life and career,” he said.

The quarterback also wrote an emotional letter to his fans and supporters.

“It has truly been the happiest two decades I could have envisioned in my life and I have nothing but love and gratitude for my time in New England,” Brady wrote on Instagram.

Brady dated Moynahan in the period between 2004 and 2006. Their breakup made the hottest headlines at the time. Moynahan found out she was pregnant with Jack right after the breakup. Brady was already dating Gisele Bundchen. It was a tough blow for their romance, but their love survived. Brady and Gisele celebrated their 11^th anniversary in February.

Some of the rumors suggested that Brady is leaving Boston because Gisele is fed up with the cold weather. Well, these are just rumors, and we believe that Brady was more focused on the future of his wife and kids. His family has always been a priority.
