Kendrick Perkins Defends LeBron James After Michael Jordan Is Praised for Losses

LeBron James is often compared to Michael Jordan. This debate will never end, but it’s definitely interesting to hear all the rumors about this. Both LeBron and Jordan have earned an army of supporters, and Kendrick Perkins has picked a side. Perkins came to the defense of the Lakers superstar.

The former NBA champion and LeBron’s former teammate took to his Twitter account to discuss the expectations NBA fans have for King James against Jordan. This happened right after Jordan saw praise in The Last Dance for his excellence in losing efforts.

“The expectations of ‘Bron [are] like nothing we’ve ever seen in NBA history. If Bron scores 63 and 49 in a series and gets swept, every sports network is talking about his inability to get it done, while MJ is getting praised and awarded player of the game in losses.”

Perkins mentioned Jordan’s 63- and 49-point games. These happened in his second season. He was playing for a 30-win Chicago team and against one of the best Boston Celtics teams we have ever seen.

Kendrick Perkins LeBron is better than Jordan

The ultimate LeBron-related comparison is probably his 2007 run to the NBA Finals with the Cleveland Cavaliers. LeBron led the Cavaliers through the conference before the San Antonio Spurs defeated his team. He gained this much success with his own effort. They praised LeBron for his postseason run. The NBA Finals loss isn’t counted in the same way as losses later in his professional career.

King James is held to a different standard. One couldn’t hold anyone to Jordan’s standards before Jordan because he was the first superstar of his kind in the NBA. Let’s be honest. LeBron is held to a higher standard than any other NBA player. This is absolutely wrong.

LeBron has three titles and Jordan has six. But that’s the only number Jordan excels. LeBron has better numbers in every category, and no one can beat that. The GOAT debate will keep thriving for some time, and every fan has the right to make a claim. LeBron has won games all by himself, and that’s what makes him the greatest of all time.
