Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James always talks about social issues and he didn’t remain silent about the murder of Ahmaud Arbery.
The unarmed 25-year-old black man was allegedly shot down by two white men in February. He was jogging near his home in Brunswick, Georgia. There’s also a graphic video of his death.
Both men told the police that Arbery was a burglar. People disapproved the reaction of the police. The men didn’t face any charges. Neither of the men was arrested.
LeBron and many other athletes and celebrities follow the development of the whole situation. The four-time NBA MVP took to Twitter to voice his opinion.
“We’re literally hunted EVERYDAY/EVERYTIME we step foot outside the comfort of our homes!” LeBron tweeted. “Can’t even go for a damn jog man! Like WTF man are you kidding me?!?!?!?!?!? No man fr ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!! I’m sorry Ahmaud(Rest In Paradise) and my prayers and blessings sent to the heavens above to your family!! #StayWoke #ProfiledCauseWeAreSimplyBlack.”
LeBron stands up for Armaud Arbery
The graphic video of the murder was released this week. The release of the video was followed by a massive outrage. There was even a protest outside of the Georgia Capitol building in Atlanta. Many people voiced their opinion. They all believe that the men should be charged with murder.
A grand jury is now trying to determine whether authorities should file criminal charges.
“I was murdered by an armed father and son who hunted me down and shot me as I jogged in a Georgia neighborhood,” reads the photo LeBron shared. “Neither of my killers have been charged. My name is Ahmaud Arbery.”
This isn’t the first time for LeBron to share his opinion on murders. He has already talked about the death of Trayvon Martin, Eric Garner and Michal Brown. They all died and their cases are followed by controversies.
Arbery’s death didn’t go unnoticed and many people are looking for answers now. What happened in February? Why did the father and his son kill the man? Hopefully, the investigation will provide results and calm the entire nation down. We don’t need another scandal. Life is already hard enough.
