Cam Newton Reveals Specific Motivation Behind His Patriots Nicknames

Cam Newton has been working on his nicknames for his Patriots teammates. It has been interesting to see him in action in a Patriots uniform. The New England Patriots are getting back on track after a disappointing 2019 season. And so far, they are looking far better than they did a year ago.

Will they be able to keep it up? Well, if Newton has anything to say about it, it should not be a problem. Head coach and general manager Bill Belichick had some very good things to say about Newton in the past. Take a look at what he has said about him previously.

“He’s come in and do everything we’ve asked him to do,” Belichick said. “He works had. He’s obviously a very talented player and looking forward to continue to work with him. We’ll just take it day-by-day, but he’s given us everything he’s had and we’ve tried to put the team in the best position we can competitively. We’ll see how that all comes out. I’m sure a lot of things will change as the season goes along. We are where we are for right now and just keep trying to get better every day.”

His play on the field is not the only thing that he has been working on. It sounds like Newton has been great in the locker room as well. He already has many nicknames for his teammates as well. He talked about this after the game.

Newton said in his postgame video conference: “You’ve just got to keep it fun. I just appreciate the guys for just rolling with it, man. One thing I did, kind of from walking in Day 1 — there’s an aura that you get when you play as a member of the New England Patriots, and that aura can sometimes be like ‘grrr,’ you know what I’m saying? The Patriot Way, to a degree, from the outside looking in. But from the inside looking out, these guys really enjoy the process, as well as myself. And me being a member, I’m just lucky to be here.”

“Any time I can lighten the mood in some way, shape, or form, I hesitate not.”
