LeBron James Gets Bold Prediction About Lakers Future From Brian Windhorst

LeBron James plays elite basketball and sure has a few great seasons left in the tank. The Los Angeles Lakers front office had no doubts regarding his signing. In fact, Jeanie Buss and Magic Johnson did their best to get LeBron to sign with the franchise on the first day of his free agency. LeBron joined the Lakers and became the ultimate leader, but analysts still ask questions about his future with the franchise.

The four-time NBA champion said he is already “on the other side of the hill”, hinting at his eventual retirement. Yes, LeBron will have to retire at some point, but he will probably delay this scenario. Although LeBron’s retirement is making the hottest news these days, many expect him to actually go and win another title or two.

LeBron will create his NBA future and make a big decision on the Lakers

Brian Windhorst from ESPN discussed LeBron’s current situation and offered a strong prediction on his future.

LeBron can opt out of his current contract and stay with LA or go somewhere else. Windhorst made a strong bet and it makes sense on so many levels.

“I think LeBron’s gonna opt out no matter what. And the reason I think he’s gonna opt out no matter what is even if he just signs back for one year, the only functional way for LeBron to get a no-trade clause is to sign a new contract,” Windhorst explained via Lakers Daily.

“If he extends the contract he’s in or picks up that option, extends onto it, he can’t get a no-trade clause. And I think for a number of different reasons, LeBron would like, ask for and probably be granted a no-trade clause.”

LeBron can flow with pretty much any scenario at this point. He is in his 21st season and it’s all up to his good will… and plans. LeBron wants to play with his oldest son and Bronny has already declared for the 2024 NFL Draft. Will this affect his future with the Lakers?
