Aggressive Trade Proposals Have Patriots Landing Franchise Quarterback in Draft
The New England Patriots added several talented players, and they may not be done at this point. Head coach Bill Belichick was pretty aggressive these days, and according to some experts, the Patriots head coach may be landing a quarterback.
Belichick has more than $42 million free, and he is on to the next move.
Patriots may be landing a quarterback in the draft
The Patriots may be set to make their biggest move.
Mel Kiper Jr. from ESPN said the Patriots may trade up in the draft to select their quarterback of the future. Is Justin Fields the right option? According to Kiper, the Patriots will send three draft picks to the Denver Broncos and move up six spots to No.9. That’s when they get Fields.
“The Patriots would have to send the Broncos at least the No. 15 pick, a second-round pick, and a 2022 pick. And I wouldn’t be shocked if it took the Pats’ 2022 first-rounder to get the deal over the finish line.”
Phil Perry from NBC Sports can see the Patriots trade up for Shields, too. He has the Patriots giving up on their No. 15 pick and the 2022 first-rouner for the No.7 pick.
Cam Newton signed a one-year deal and Fields has plenty of time to learn the offense under the veteran.
