Report: Bill Belichick’s Incompetent Handling of Stephon Gilmore May Force Robert Kraft to Take Back Control of Patriots

There is a report out that points at Bill Belichick’s incompetent handling of Stephon Gilmore that may force owner Robert Kraft to take back control of the New England Patriots. As we all know by now, the Patriots no longer have Stephon Gilmore on their roster. They mutually parted ways yesterday which shocked the NFL world as he was a big part of the defense. Apparently, it just did not work out.

Gilmore talked about leaving.

“It’s no hard feelings,” Gilmore told reporters. “It’s business. It happens all the time. I had good years there, and I’m happy to be a Panther now.”

“It’s been a crazy 24 hours,” Gilmore said. “From sitting in the meeting room, to talking to Bill to getting traded to flying down here. So it’s been a crazy 24 hours, but it’s over now. I’m looking forward to the future.”

“That’s how it is,” Gilmore said. “Every year starts over. You’ve got to earn it every year, and that’s how I look at it. I turn a page each and every year and try to earn everything I want. That’s how I look at every situation.”

“I’m just trying to go out and get on the field,” Gilmore said. “Once I get on the field, everything will take care of itself. I believe in that. You’ve got to go out and make plays and show what you can do. … We haven’t really talked about (a potential extension) yet. That stuff will (work) itself out. I’ve just got to make sure I handle my business and try to do whatever I can to get back out there and make plays.”

Now, there are some reports out about Belichick’s mishandling of the whole situation.

This is pretty unfortunate but it will be interesting to see what comes of it. Belichick is definitely known for doing a bit of whatever he wants. Is this going to be the end of this? Probably not. But it was sad to see how this whole situation ended up.
