Patriots Re-Sign Promising Rookie to Practice Squad

The Patriots have resigned a promising rookie to their practice squad. Well, the Patriots are officially one of the best teams in the NFL. At least, that is what it seems like right now. The offense is playing at a very high level in the play of rookie QB Mac Jones. In what seemed like another lost season, the team has bounced back in a huge way, winning several games in a row and looking impressive doing it. Not only is the offense rolling, but the defense is also playing at a very high level.

Now the Patriots are looking at a different place. It is apparent that coach Bill Belichick really likes rookie kicker Quinn Nordic. Just a few days after he was released by the Patriots, he has been resigned to the Patriots practice squad once again. He lost the tryout to veteran kicker Nick Folk this preseason. Apparently, though, Belichick wants to keep him close by.

It should be a good thing to keep him on the practice squad if needed at some point.

The Patriots have a big game this week against Buffalo. Bad weather is expected and Belichick talked about how the preparation changes.

“Usually we talk about it once we know for sure when it is, which, a lot of times, that’s when we get to the stadium. It’s hard to really hang your hat on one of the predictions here. We’ll go with the known information understanding, obviously, what it could be. We’re not expecting overheating and fans on the sideline.”

“I would say, on the weather, we don’t really spend a lot of time on that. We practice in a variety of conditions from the start of training camp to the end of the preseason, so whenever they come up, they come up. We learn from those. Those may or may not be what we get that particular week. Somewhere along the line, it could come into play. We talk about that, how it would affect certain plays, situations, ball handling, et cetera.”
