NFL Analyst Calls For Bill Belichick to Make Mind-Boggling Trade

The New England Patriots missed another chance to win a Super Bowl. They lost the wild-card game to the Buffalo Bills. Will head coach Bill Belichick ever consider pulling out a trade deal for some of his players? Yes, Belichick has great players on the roster, but some of his guys struggle to deliver.

Fox Sports’ Colin Cowherd has something to say about the Patriots’ terrible season. He also mentioned Bills quarterback Josh Allen. According to Cowherd, Allen will force the Patriots to get another quarterback.

“Josh Allen in the last two games has been so devastating, unstoppable and jaw-dropping,” Cowherd said. “Could Belichick — and this was a great defense — be thinking, ‘I probably gotta trade Mac Jones, because if this is a gunfight, I’m not sufficiently armed’?”

Jones is a good fit for the Patriots and Belichick likes his potential. He knows that Jones can perform at a high level.

“That was the best cold-weather performance I’ve ever seen by a quarterback,” Cowherd added. “And Mac Jones, by the way … Mac wasn’t terrible. But the league has changed. Belichick is 70. Mac Jones has value. He is a free player for three years at the most vital position. You can win with Tua (Tagovailoa) and Mac Jones. And, for some organizations, that’s what they’re looking at.”

Will Bill Belichick trade his starter?

The Patriots got the Jones in the first round of the NFL draft. Belichick used the 15th overall to select Jones and he did it for a reason. Why would Belichick ever get rid of him?

“Belichick wants Super Bowls. (Patrick) Mahomes, (Justin) Herbert, (Joe) Burrow, Josh Allen — good luck. Be absolutely a tier below,” Cowherd said. “We talk Saints, Bears, Raiders. Is Belichick this morning, who has a history of moving off popular players, he would’ve moved off (Tom) Brady, looking at this and going, ‘OK, I gotta face (Allen) 10 times in the next five years, minimum’? This isn’t the Brady era where all of the quarterbacks and most of the coaches were stiffs.”

We can only sit and wait. We don’t really believe that Jones will leave the Patriots in the near future.
