D’Angelo Russell Talks Monster Night In Lakers Game 6 Win Over Grizzlies

The Los Angeles Lakers sent the Memphis Grizzlies home with a loss. They made the second round of the playoffs and brought joy to fans across the nation. D’Angelo Russell stole the spotlight in Game 6 of the series against the Grizzlies and he was more than happy about it. He finished the night with 31 points, two rebounds, four assists, one steal, and one block while shooting 12-of-17 from the field and 5-of-9 from behind the three-point line.

“Shots were just falling, honestly,” Russell said. “We were getting it done on defense. Getting out. Getting easy ones. We got off to a great start and never allowed them to get back into it. So, for our group, for our starting five to lock into the game plan and to give us some cushion. Our second group came in and did their thing, and we came back out and finished it.”

Russell and his Lakers teammates are motivated by the Game 6 win over the Grizzlies

The Game 6 win will motivate the Lakers to play even better in the next round. Grizzlies players tried to push LeBron James and his teammates out of the way, but it didn’t happen. They were too confident about their performance and some of them threatened to beat LeBron. A good win will give the Lakers strength to move on with a greater plan.

“Man, good comes to good, honestly,” Russell said. “To be in a position to make the best out of my situation. Obviously, y’all know what I’ve been through. It ain’t no secret. But to be on top and go with this franchise to the next round and get another opportunity to control what we want to control, it’s a blessing, honestly.” Austin Reaves was brilliant, too. LeBron likes his basketball IQ and enjoys playing with him. Team owner Jeanie Buss is proud of her team and everything they have accomplished so far. It’s a good postseason for the purple and gold. The Lakers look good right now. Let’s see what happens in the next round.
