D’Angelo Russell Drops Wild Kobe Bryant Comparison After Lakers Beat Suns

Austin Reaves is playing his best basketball and has a key role in the Los Angeles Lakers. The young talent embraced his role with the franchise. He was brilliant in the last few games and D’Angelo Russell couldn’t help himself but share a wild Kobe Bryant comparison.

Russell believes that Reaves follows the same pattern as Kobe. The young Laker tries to get the best of his game and fans love him. Let’s just say he become a fan favorite.

“It’s huge,” Russell said of Lakers fans. “Like I said, I’ve been here in the past [and] I remember that. Kobe and guys like that controlling that environment from just dominating the game. And the fans can’t wait to cheer for it. So, even if it’s Austin Reaves, I guess they love Austin. So, whenever we can get him going, it helps our team. I know it. I think a lot of guys know it. Whenever we can return a favor like that, I think it’s good for both sides.”

Reaves got the attention of pretty much every fan out there. He was spectacular in the win over the Phoenix Suns, delivering 25 points, four rebounds, and 11 assists on 6-of-10 shooting from the field, 1-of-1 shooting from behind the three-point line, and 12-of-13 from the free-throw line.

Fans understand the reasons Russell had to share the Kobe comparison

Lakers head coach Darvin Ham is impressed by Reaves impact, too. Anthony Davis and LeBron James watched him grow. The kid has improved a lot over the last year and it shows.

Ham decided to give Reaves a starting role in Wednesday’s game. His player is all-in when it comes to winning and he is ready to win at all costs. Reaves wouldn’t make a difference between “starting” and “not starting.” He takes the floor and leads his team to a win. Simple as that.

The Lakers are lucky to have reaves on the floor. He has secured his future with the team. The Lakers would be crazy to lose him at any point in the near future. Reaves is a winner and he belongs to LA.
