Kyrie Irving Breaks Silence On Joining Lakers

Kyrie Irving may be interested in joining the Los Angeles Lakers, but the franchise has yet to confirm this signing. The NBA veteran enters free agency this season and the Lakers have been mentioned as a top target. Truth is, Irving has yet to make a decision regarding his free agency.

“I’m a free agent this summer, but I am in no rush to make a decision,” Irving said. “The speculation around my name from all these individuals that get on TV and have these personalities. … When they speak on my name and they’re talking about potential teams that I’m going to … Respectfully, I’m asking you to please stop paying attention to that. I am in no rush to make a decision.”

Irving sure fueled the fire about his potential signing with the Lakers

Irving attended Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals. He watched the Lakers lose the game and yes, it was more than enough for Lakers fans to spark a discussion.

Eric Pincus from Bleacher Report discussed Irving’s situation with the franchise and it’s a major game-changer.

“I hear they had a handshake deal before the trade [with the Nets],” a source told Pincus in a story published May 21. “And Kyrie wouldn’t have said yes to anything less than the max.”

The Lakers have another issue to take care of. LeBron James isn’t happy with the current situation with the team and he may consider retiring from the NBA. His cryptic comments could change it all.

“We’ll see. We’ll see what happens going forward. I don’t know. I don’t know,” LeBron said. “I’ve got a lot to think about to be honest. Just for me personally going forward with the game of basketball, I’ve got a lot to think about.”

LeBron may not retire in the near future. He wants to share the court with his oldest son. Will Bronny make this happen? LeBron trusts his skill set and experience over the years.

“I’m still better than 90% of the NBA,” LeBron told ESPN. “Maybe 95.”
