Rival Execs Consider Lakers’ Duo ‘Trade Candidates To Watch’ Amid Rumors

The Los Angeles Lakers regained full control over their performance on the basketball court, leaving little room for speculation. However, there’s a growing speculation about a potential trade. The Lakers have a few trade candidates to offer if they are interested in getting a new player.

The Lakers have been linked to Zach LaVine for quite some time and the Chicago Bulls may be ready to trade him away.

“The Los Angeles Lakers are among the teams interested in acquiring Zach LaVine, and while the Bulls would covet Austin Reaves in trade talks, he’s not for sale in LaVine conversations,” wrote Michael Scotto of HoopsHype on November 29. “So, who could be on the move for LaVine or another player coveted by the Lakers?

“Rival NBA executives who spoke with HoopsHype believe D’Angelo Russell and Rui Hachimura are two potential trade candidates to watch.”

Russell was brilliant in the win over the Detroit Pistons. He scored 35 points, nine assists, four rebounds, two blocks, and one steal. The Lakers offered him a two-year deal worth $36 million. Russell waived his no-trade clause and we all know what that means.

Lakers could send their trade candidates to get a familiar name

Jovan Buha from The Athletic discussed the potential trade for LaVine. The Lakers show interest in his skills, but they may opt for another duo. According to him, the Lakers may go after DeMar DeRozan and Alex Caruso instead. Caruso was part of the championship winning squad a few seasons ago and getting him makes sense for the team.

“In conversations I’ve had in recent weeks regarding the Bulls, there is real interest in Zach LaVine. But I think it comes at the right price,” Buha said on the “Hoops Tonight” podcast on November 28. “I’ve actually heard that they’re more interested in DeMar DeRozan and Alex Caruso.

The Lakers let Caruso go despite his great performance. He signed a deal with the Bulls, but he may be on his way back now.
