D’Angelo Russell Fuels Trade Speculation in Lakers Victory Over Blazers

Los Angeles Lakers veteran D’Angelo Russell was great in the win over the Portland Trail Blazers, but many believe that he has secured his spot on the trade block.

Russell scored 34 points in the win over the Blazers. However, he wasn’t in the best mood during the game. His watery eyes caught the attentions of most NBA fans. Some of them noticed that the Lakers veteran unfollowed the Lakers. This was more than enough for fans to speculate his next move. Is Russell going somewhere else?

Does D’Angelo know something we don’t,” a fan wrote on OX.

Rui Hachimura is probably staying in LA, per Eric Pincus from Bleacher Report.

The Lakers could trade Russell

Russell is making the biggest headlines this offseason. The Lakers offered him a contract extension last summer. Russell signed a two-year deal worth $36 million. He averaged $27.2 points and 6.4 assists while going 53.7% from beyond the arc in the last five games with the Lakers. Will the Lakers push him to a different possition?

“I don’t really want to talk about that,” the veteran told the media after the game. “I just, I know it’s going to be a headline or something, and I’d just rather not.”

The Lakers had a really good chance to re-sign Russell. He is an excellent player despite his poor performance in the playoffs. Does Russell have special plans for his future?

“I never come to the game saying I’m trying to score, score, score,” Russell said when asked about his mindset. “Just having a mentality of being aggressive. And when I make shots like that, I’ll shoot it from anywhere.

“I’ve always been like that, recognizing my superpower. Everybody in the league has one. Might be defensive, or just a motor – whatever it may be. But everybody has one. And for me, just ever since I was a young kid I always found myself kind of getting hot throughout the game. … It’s just my superpower. And when I feel that, get in that mode, I definitely know that I’m in that mode.”
