Kevin O’Connell Sends Subtle Message To Patriots, Owner Robert Kraft

The New England Patriots have the No.3 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft and it’s the highest pick they have had in the last three decades. They have an endless list of options and can definitely trade their first-round pick. The Minnesota Vikings may also plan to trade up the draft to get a preferable player. Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell delivered a strong message regarding their trade plans and yes, he made sure Patriots got his word.

The Vikings may need the Patriots No.3 pick if they want to get one of the top QB prospects. New England may agree to a trade if they don’t want any of these picks. The same goes to the Washington Commanders.

“Ultimately, when you feel like you find that guy, then you got to hope that 31 other teams are complicit in making sure they (the quarterback) can become a Minnesota Viking,” O’Connell told attendees of the “Faith & Life” series at St. Philip the Deacon Lutheran Church. “But we only need one team to be complicit, and hopefully we can find that team. I may or may not have sent a nice bouquet of flowers to Robert Kraft the other day.”

Patriots could contact O’Connell really soon

O’Connell knows what he is doing. This was an indirect offer for the Patriots. The Vikings are definitely trying to get one of the top quarterbacks. They have plans for the draft and it’s up to the Patriots to make a decision.

One thing stands for sure. The Patriots won’t give up on their first-round pick for nothing. Even head coach Jerod Mayo admitted that they would try to get more in this scenario. Tom Curran from NBC Sports Boston believes that Mayo and his team would probably demand at least three first-rounders for their No.3 pick. Let’s see what happens on Day 1 of the 2024 NFL Draft. It’s hard to predict any move at this point.
