Julian Edelman’s PED suspension is quite a thing these days, and he’s got a whole army of supporters protecting his back. Fans think there is a major game behind the curtains which makes Edelman a victim here. Rodney Harrison gave his opinion on the matter, too.
For many fans, Rodney Harrison can actually empathize with Julian Edelman.
Edelman is now appealing the PED suspension for breaking the NFL’s performance-enhancing drug policy. Harrison faced something similar in 2007, as he admitted to using a banned substance after being banned.
Harrison had an interview with the Boston Herald’s Karen Guregian, and used the occasion to discussed Edelman’s PED suspension.
“Ultimately, people are going to think what they want to think. If you’re a part of the Patriots, and something like this happens, people from the outside, they think you’re a cheater anyway. Ultimately, I’d tell him, ‘It doesn’t matter what other people think. You know what type of person you are. You just have to bounce back from this. You can’t allow it to affect you, you have to use your time wisely,’” Harrison said.
“I just think a lot of times, we put a lot of guilt and pressure on ourselves, because we’re trying to do the right things. When you make a mistake like that, you apologize, you remain humble, you apologize to the people it hurt and move on,” he added.
Edelman hasn’t admitted to taking the banned substance, and posted a statement on Instagram, explaining that he doesn’t really know what happened. The NFL couldn’t recognize the substance, as noted by MMQB’s Albert Breer.
The NFL has yet to announce Julian Edelman’s suspension, because it’s still under an appeal. Edelman hopes to lift the suspension, hoping to get everyone see the truth. The scandal will soon be over.
