Patriots Take Three Players Out Of Injury Report Ahead Of Game Vs. Chargers

The New England Patriots can say they are perfectly healthy and ready for the AFC Divisional Round match against the Los Angeles Chargers at Gillette Stadium. The team has removed three players from the injury report, and that’s actually good news for Patriots fans.

The Patriots removed safety Devin McCourty (concussion), wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson (knee) and tight end Dwayne Allen (knee) from the injury report. The team had excellent attendance at their sessions this week. According to sources, the three players will be on the field on Sunday.

Defensive end Deatrich Wise is the only player to be added to the Patriots’ injury report. He was a limited participant in Thursday’s session due to his ankle issues.

The Chargers have an injured player

Chargers running back Melvin Gordon was a limited participant in the session. He missed Wednesday’s session due to a knee injury.

The Patriots have not been active in a game since sealing the regular season with a brilliant win over the New York Jets on Dec. 30. The Los Angeles Chargers won the game against the Baltimore Ravens 23-17 on Sunday, and did a good job in the wild-card round.

“We played them last year and we didn’t play particularly well. I think what’s challenging is it’s a very fundamentally sound defense. They don’t really give you any plays, they don’t void any zones, they put pressure on you with a great rush. And I think that’s the challenging part, is anytime they can rush four guys and force the ball out quickly, I mean, they are all reading the quarterback, they break on the ball, they force turnovers,” quarterback Tom Brady said of the upcoming match.

Let’s see if the chargers will have trouble playing in freezing temperatures after flying across the country to meet their opponents.
