LeBron Has Made Secret Promise To Carmelo Anthony About Trade

The Los Angeles Lakers are linked with several great names, but did not get any of the players that were available for trade. Now it seems like Carmelo Anthony is making his way to Los Angeles, and LeBron James made a promise.

Sources reveal that LeBron told Anthony he will do his best to help his team sign a trade deal. That’s what ESPN’s Stehen A. Smith said. He believes that the Lakers are Melo’s last-chance saloon.

Anthony was travelling across the league in the past couple of years. He left the Houston Rockets after playing 10 games with the team. The Chicago Bulls got him through a cash-dump deal, and Melo is still looking for a home.

The Lakers are one of the team that has shown interest for Melo. They do not have an empty spot on the roster, meaning someone will have to go.

Anthony will probably go to LA

LeBron and Melo are friends, and their friendship started in high school. Smith reported that LeBron will sure try to convince his team to get his friend on the roster.

“LeBron, having told Melo he needs to be in shape and ready to go if and when called upon, still has to convince Magic [Johnson] and [Rob] Pelinka to do it,” he said on the Stephen A Smith show. It’s not so much that LeBron, from what I’m told, desperately wants him in L.A.”

“It’s that he believes Melo got screwed over in Houston and wants to salvage his reputation and beyond in L.A. He’s willing to help him do that, so long as Melo is willing to put in the necessary work to make that happen. I believe Melo can come to L.A., average 15 points per game and contribute to the Los Angeles Lakers. I think he is a better fit than Brandon Ingram, even though Brandon Ingram is no scrub.”

“He’s considerably younger, obviously a stronger upside because of it, I just don’t think L.A. is the ideal situation for Brandon Ingram. LeBron needs shooters. Josh Hart, Kyle Kuzma, Melo, people like that is what he needs. I think Rob Pelinka and Magic should get him and I think that would be Melo’s very last chance. If it doesn’t work out for Melo in L.A. he needs to retire.”
