LeBron James Ruined ‘Dynasty’ Chances With This Decision – Miami Heat Boss Pat Riley

LeBron James was the ultimate addition for both Cleveland and Miami. The basketball star decided to leave the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2010 to join the Miami Heat. In 2014, he flew back to Cleveland, and Pat Riley has a thick theory about it.

LeBron had a really good play in Miami. He won two NBA championships and picked up a couple of MVP awards. Fans were convinced that LeBron would stay in Miami forever and create a dynasty strong enough to challenge the Chicago Bulls of the mid-1990s. The magic ended as LeBron returned to Cleveland in 2014. Miami Heat fans were not happy with this, and Pat Riley was hurt.

Riley was convinced that LeBron would play his best basketball with the Heat, and saw all of his dreams become nothing.

“When LeBron made that call, I saw a dynasty fly out the window,” Riley said of James’ 2014 departure in an interview with ESPN. I didn’t blame him. But I knew that was a 10-year team. It was just a sad day for me and for our franchise because I wanted that dynasty. I wanted this city and this team to go 10 years and maybe be in the Finals eight times.”

There are no hard feelings, and Riley still likes LeBron. He said, “I don’t know how many championships we would have won. But I don’t have any rancour toward him at all.”

The Lakers may not make the playoff as they lost 29 games so far. Head coach Luke Walton believes things will take a good turn.

“Coming back re-energized with the idea of ‘let’s try to do something special,” he said. “Let’s sacrifice.

“Let’s go out and give for the team. That’s what we were doing earlier and I think we’ll get back to that. I asked the guys to get quiet for a little bit over the weekend. I know everyone has got family or events, but spend some time by yourself. I think we’ve got a group that will be ready to go when we get back.”
