Rob Gronkowski Buzzing His Head For 8th Time For Kids With Cancer

Now-retired Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski buzzed his head to help kids with cancer.

The tight end took to Instagram to deliver a powerful message.

“Did you hear the birthday Buzz? 8th time buzzing for kids with cancer, and it’s their 10th birthday! Happy birthday One Mission, thanks for the sweet summer cut”

Gronk buzzed his head at One Mission’s annual Buzz off event which is organized to raise money for those battling pediatric cancer. Every year, hundreds of people attend the Buzz Off For Kids to show solidarity for the little fighters and raise money. Gronk’s role in the event is of great importance, and hopefully, this will attract the attention of other athletes and celebrities.

One Mission programs make life in hospitals less lonely and stressful, and are designed to bring back joy in a time of fear and uncertainty, as stated on their official website. Kids diagnosed with cancer need all the support in this world, and the same applies to their loved ones.

In 2018, Gronk did the same thing.

“I was a little nervous,” Gronk said with a laugh. “I was just hoping they didn’t get me bleeding on the back with the buzzer, but they didn’t, so it’s all good.”

“They’re coming out here, supporting their friends, supporting other kids, the parents, the families, the friends,” Gronk said. “It’s bringing everyone together. It’s just a great cause, and it’s great to be a part of.”

Bob Elliot did the same thing. Members of the End Zone Militia got their heads, beards and eyebrows shaved. It was Elliot’s fourth year coming to the Buzz off with the militia, and he shaved his beard for the first time in 45 years.

“Every year I say if I raise more than $5,000 I’ll shave my beard, and this year, I’m at $5,200,” he said.

As the militia members left the stage, they jokingly called out, “Where’s Bob? Has anyone seen Bob?”

“It feels good actually. It feels really good,” Bob said. “Everyone should experience this at least once.”
