Details Of Tom Brady-Josh Gordon Relationship Emerge

There’s no update on Josh Gordon’s reinstatement, but Patriots quarterback Tom Brady likes to work out with his teammate. Oh, they even have dinner together.

The NFL suspended Gordon indefinitely, and officials haven’t provided any information regarding his situation.

“He recognized that Josh Gordon made the team better and recognized that he was going to need some attention,” ESPN’s Jeff Darlington said on NFL Live. “Josh Gordon was going out to dinner with Tom Brady and Gisele [Bundchen] at times because Tom recognized that he needs to bring this guy in, foster him, make him feel like he is at home, recognizing some of the issues that Josh Gordon goes through.

“While that is, in part, a guy just trying to get better, it’s also Tom Brady being a really good person, continuing to try to help out and manifest Josh Gordon … Tom Brady, to this day, really respects Josh Gordon and would love to see him live a better life.”

Gordon is on the Reserve/Commissioner Suspended list following his suspension. If reinstated, the receiver will play with the Patriots as he signed a restricted tender with the team this offseason.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has yet to provide an update on Gordon’s situation.

“Directly I have not spoken to him since his last suspension,” Goodell said at the time. “I do know he’s in treatment. He’s a young man who has had a lot of challenges. I have gotten to know him and understands his struggles and the challenges that he’s had to go through and he’s working at it. He understands what he has to do. He understand the importance for him — And this is well beyond football. This is for his life. — to make sure he takes care of himself and he understands the importance of getting this issue under control and being able to live a healthy and long life. 

“If he can, we’ll evaluate that at the right time, but right now the focus is what more can we do to help Josh get to that place.”Let’s see what happens next. Is Gordon a step closer to Foxboro?
