Take Your First Look At Ty Law In His Gold Hall Of Fame Jacket

Former New England Patriots cornerback Ty Law will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame this weekend in Canton, Ohio. On Friday, Law got to wear the legendary coat during the gold jacket dinner.

The Patriots shared the moment on Twitter.

The induction itself will take place Saturday evening at 7 p.m. ET.

Law will join Champ Bailey, Ed Reed, Tony Gonzalez, Johnny Robinson, Kevin Mawae, Gil Brandt and Pat Bowlen in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Two of Law’s ex-coaches described working with him in a feature published by The Boston Globe. Former Patriots defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel and current New England head coach Bill Belichick both praised Law and commended his self-belief and dogged work ethic.

Crennel spoke about Law’s self-confidence and how it helped him compete with the opposing teams’ top wide receivers.

“He felt like he could cover anybody,” Crennel said. “He didn’t care about who it was. He accepted the challenge and looked forward to the challenge.”

“Sometimes because of that confident personality some people think that he didn’t have to work at his job,” Crennel continued. “He worked at his job. He would run a couple of miles a day in the morning before practice because he knew that his job required some stamina.

“He would put that time in getting extra running and conditioning in before we went to practice. I think that was one of the things that made him so successful.”

Belichick also got to work with Ty Law when he arrived in New England in 1996 as assistant head coach and defensive back coach.

“There was really no weakness in Ty’s game,” Belichick said. “He was good in coverage, good on the jam, good against the run, and he could change the game with his ball skills.”
