Attorneys for 2nd Antonio Brown Accuser Make New Statement Following His Release

Antonio Brown wasted 2019 “killing” his reputation. He was released by the New England Patriots following the release of the text messages he sent to his second accuser. According to Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio, the NFL asked Brown to stop texting his second accuser.

“The lawyers who represent the second accuser issued a statement on Friday afternoon explaining that Brown had been advised to ‘have no further contact with our client, either directly or through his associates,’ and that the NFL ‘also advised us that it contacted Mr. Brown’s representative and reiterated that Mr. Brown was to cease and desist efforts to contact or intimidate our client.’”

Prior to Brown’s release, the lawyers thanked the NFL for contacting the troubled wide receiver.

“We thank them for moving swiftly and decisively,” the accuser’s lawyers said in the statement. “The NFL has pledged to conduct a thorough investigation under its Personal Conduct Policy. We will cooperate fully with the NFL in this investigation to ensure that the threats and intimidation against our client cease, and that she and her family remain safe.”

The lawyers released another statement following the release.

“In response to the New England Patriots release of Antonio Brown, Lisa Banks and Debra Katz of Katz, Marshall & Banks, attorneys for one of Mr. Brown’s accusers, released the following statement:

“’The NFL and the Patriots clearly took our client’s concerns seriously. She wanted the threats and intimidation to stop and we hope that will be the case. The NFL has assured us that regardless of Antonio Brown’s roster status, it will continue to investigate all claims regarding his behavior.

“’We are gratified that the NFL recognized that it has an important role to play in policing player conduct that is sexually harassing and threatening.’”

Brown’s future in the NFL hangs in the air. His football career may be over, and that’s bad, because he is the best wide receiver in the league. Let’s see what happens in the next few weeks. The situation doesn’t look good for Brown, and many NFL fans hope to see him suspended. He is still eligible to sign a deal with another team.
