Report: Patriots To Make Hard Push To Upgrade Tight End Position

The New England Patriots missed the chance to play the big game this season. Tom Brady and his teammates were eliminated from the playoff run in the first game against the Tennessee Titans. Most of the problems came from the offensive side of the ball. In other words, head coach Bill Belichick will have to work on his offense to avoid another failure. According to ESPN’s Mike Reiss, the Patriots will make a hard push to boost their tight end position this offseason.

Rob Gronkowski announced his decision to retire from the NFL a year ago. He spent nine seasons with the team. His retirement left a big hole in the Patriots’ offense, and the team hasn’t recovered yet.

Of course, there were efforts to move on. The Patriots tried to replace the star tight end with another player of his kind. We saw Benjamin Watson, Ryan Izzo, and Matt LaCossee. They all started at tight end. However, the offense failed, and Gronk’s absence was felt. The Patriots are in desperate need of another Gronk. They will have to find a solution to this problem in the next few weeks.
