Report: Bill Belichick Working Out Nephew Of Future Hall Of Famer

Patriots head coach Bill Belichick will be super busy this offseason as he is trying to replace some of the key players he lost in free agency. The New England Patriots lost Tom Brady and a few other players in the past two weeks. New England will have to start off the new season with a different roster. But, Belichick always has a backup plan, and this time he may be going after Adam Vinatieri’s nephew.

The Patriots need a kicker, and he may try to get the South Dakota State’s prospect.

Vinatieri was in the stands when his famous uncle scored game-winning field goals in Super Bowls XXXVI and XXXVII to enter a twenty-year dynastic run of success. Chase was there when the Patriots took part in Super Bowl XXXIX.

In an interview with ESPN, the 23-year-old revealed that he gladly remembers bits and pieces of those games. He also remembers the celebration for his uncle and their family. He likes to go back and rewatch the YouTube videos of his uncle’s famous kicks.

Chase and his family watched the games on TV, and he sees thing differently now. He really understands the game now.

Bill Belichick may be interested in Vinatieri’s nephew

Chase is the son of Adam’s oldest brother, Chad. He spent two months working with Mike McCabe of One on One Kicking in Birmingham, Alabama. New England knows McCabe from his pre-draft work with Ryan Allen. The Patriots signed him after the 2013 draft. He was the team’s full-time punter in the period between 2013 and 2018.

Vinatieri’s pro day was canceled because of the coronavirus outbreak. He doesn’t know what the future holds for him. Georgia’s Rodrigo Blankenship, Georgia Southern’s Tyler Bass and UCLA’s JJ Molson headline this year’s kicker class. According to ESPN’s Todd McShay, Vinatieri’s nephew ranks fifth.

Vinateri ranks third in SDSU history in field goals made and points scored. He believes he will be an undrafted free agent. This possibility doesn’t bother him at all. He really hopes that an NFL team will offer him a deal.

His uncle took the same mindset in the mid-1990s. Chase wears jerseys No. 4, just like his uncle.
