Watch: Anthony Davis Appears to Injure Ankle in Game 5

Los Angeles Lakers superstar Anthony Davis gave fans a big scare in Game 5 of the NBA Finals, and having him injure his ankle is not acceptable at this point of the series. The Lakers big man went down really hard in the final seconds of the first quarter. It was a bad landing and fans were devastated. Fans held their breaths as Davis writhed in pain, holding his right ankle. The whole thing happened during a tussle for a rebound. These rebounds are definitely nasty.

This was a terrifying sight for the Lakers fanbase. The play was stopped with 48.5 ticks left of the first quarter.

Anthony Davis to injure the same ankle

The Lakers superstar stayed on the floor for a few minutes and then made his way to the bench. He needed help. The 6-foot-10 forward didn’t go to the Lakers locker room, and fans interpret this as a good sign. Maybe Davis’ injury is not that bad after all. But, it definitely looked scary.

Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet reported that Davis re-aggravated the right heel contusion he has been dealing with throughout the NBA Finals. This injury kept his name on the Lakers injury report.

Luckily, it’s a minor injury and Davis will be able to join his teammates in their quest for a title. He is going after his first ring and yes, that’s his ultimate motivation.

Davis is a key player on the Lakers roster and losing him would be terrible for the team. Some say that LA has no chance without Davis. But, doubters forget that LeBron James is here to lead the team. He is here to make things work and show players the right way.

Davis needs to pay more attention to his landing. Sustaining another injury is the last thing LA needs at the moment. Players need to be careful. There’s so much at stake, and losing the chance to win a title would be awful.

Let’s hope that everything will work well for LA.
