Report: Patriots Placing Isaiah Wynn, Two Others on IR Ahead of Cardinals Game

The New England Patriots have some serious problems to deal with right now. According to recent reports, the team will play without the starting left tackle for at least three weeks. Now Patriots are placing their players on IR.

ESPN’s Field Yates reported that the Patriots will place Isaiah Wynn on injured reserve ahead of Week 12 game against the Arizona Cardinals.

Wynn suffered a knee injury in Week 11 against the Houston Texans. He didn’t show up for practice this week and the team has ruled him out for Sunday’s match.

Veteran Jermaine Eluemunor and rookie Justin Herron will probably replace Wynn at left tackle against the Cardinals. New England should shift left guard Joe Thuney or right tackle Mike Onwenu over to the position.

Yates also reported that running back Rex Burkhead and defensive tackle Carl Davis will soon earn a spot on injured reserve.

Burkhead suffered an injury in the third quarter of the game against Houston. He released a statement to confirm that his injury was season-ending. Running back Sony Michel missed the last seven games due to a quad injury. NFL analysts believe he will return to the lineup on Sunday. Will he step in as a replacement for Burkhead?

Patriots to place other players on IR

Davis missed two games following the concussion he suffered in his first practice with the team. He joined his teammates to play in the last two. The team confirmed that Michel sat out two practices this week and saw limited action in the other one.

New England added Michel to the run defense. His injury gives the Patriots a big headache right now. There are still struggles in the D-line. Fellow tackles Adam Butler and Byron Cowart were listed as questionable for Sunday’s game.

Wynn and Davis can return for the Patriots Week 15 game against the Mismi Dolphins if they are healthy to do that.

Head coach Bill Belichick and his team sit out of the playoff picture at the moment. They need to win the next six games to make the top. But, NFL analysts don’t really trust this Patriots team. The team has had to deal with a lot of obstacles and players are plagued with injuries.
