Watch: Cam Newton, Patriots Punter Share Hilarious Sideline Moment

New England Patriots veteran quarterback Cam Newton and punter Jake Bailey had some great time at the sideline. Yes, Newton was the first to do the iconic “Dab” celebration. He keeps doing it and Bailey got in the groove.

After one of the better punts in the Patriots 45-0 win over the Los Angeles Chargers today, Bailey tried to mimic Newton’s signature celebration. Bailey’s first attempts didn’t really fit Newton’s standards. That’s why he decided to teach his teammate a lesson. The 2015 NFL MVP made his way to the bench to help Bailey “get his form down pat.”

Punting is sometimes overlooked, but it has a key role in each game.

Bailey has had consistent success on the field this season. However, his Week 13 performance was out of this world. The second-year punter out of Stanford downed three of his four punts the Patriots 10-yard line and allowed zero returns.

Newton plays great football, and he is definitely a fun guy. The Patriots starting quarterback is an entertaining player and this “lesson” for Bailey is the best proof of that. The former Carolina Panthers quarterback hit the end zone three times in Week 13 – once through the air and twice on the ground. Newton has so many reasons to celebrate, and we sure support him.

This leads us all the way to Newton’s nicknames for his teammates. According to him, Bailey is the “Punter Guy.”

Head coach Bill Belichick has great words for his starting quarterback. Earlier this year, he said that Newton was an “extremely hard worker.” Yes, Newton is a good fit for Belichick’s winning formula.

“Nobody works harder than Cam does,” the Patriots head coach said. “He’s here early, he stays late and he works very hard. You know, some players like to work on things that they’re good at—like if you’re strong on a bench press, then you just keep throwing more weight on the bench—but Cam’s the type of player that works on things that he’s not as good at and really tries to improve on a daily basis, and that’s something that I really respect about him.”
