Magic Johnson Shares His Take On Lakers’ Performance vs Pistons

NBA teams can’t really win every game on their schedule. The Los Angeles Lakers look really well in the regular season but they have lost several games, including the one against Detroit. Losing to an inferior opponent is far from ideal. Hall of Famer Magic Johnson shared his take on the Lakers’ loss. His recent tweet shocked a lot of fans.

The NBA legend was pretty honest and brutal. Johnson may be out of the front office, but he definitely follows every move LA makes. His former team lost a game on Thursday. It was the third road game in four days and second game of a back-to-back. Surprisingly, the Lakers suffered a defeat to Detroit. Players suffered a 15-point loss.

Playing games every night probably took its toll. That’s what Johnson thought when he mentioned the loss.

Los Angeles has yet to hit the highest point of the season. Players will get a short break before going against the Boston Celtics.

So, LA suffered a defeat on Day 9 of the seven-game road trip. They scored 34 points in the second half of the game. Detroit players outscored LA 25-14 in the fourth quarter. Yes, the same players who entered the game with a 4-14 record.

It’s hard to imagine that the reigning champions went scoreless for seven minutes. Kyle Kuzma blames the defense. He scored 22 points and 10 rebounds. According to him, every player made a mistake and the defense suffered a big blow. Los Angeles has the best defense in the NBA. Anthony Davis wasn’t playing that night. The Lakers ruled him out due to a bruised right thigh.

What led to this loss? Were players a little bit too tired? Was it the back-to-back challenge? Maybe Davis’ absence was a big bite to swallow.

There’s a long way to go. Lakers players have to do a lot in the upcoming period. Kuzma and his teammates will play better and this loss will motivate them to go harder in the next few weeks.
