Devin McCourty Shares Reaction To Jason McCourty Reportedly Joining Dolphins

Devin and Jason McCourty have already been on the opposite sides in the NFL and the latter is now joining the Miami Dolphins. These two won’t be the first time they’ve been on opposite sidelines. The NFL separated them once again.

Jason has agreed to sign a one-year deal with the Miami Dolphins on Monday. He spent the last three years with Devin in New England. Jason won’t be a Patriot.

The McCourty twins won a Super Bowl with Tom Brady and the New England Patriots in 2018. Devin wanted to give himself another shot.

Here’s how the veteran responded to the big news on their joint Twitter account.

Well, they will still see each other.

The Patriots meet their AFC East rivals twice next season. We won’t even think of missing these two games. The McCourty twins will go against each other and that’s a big deal.

Jason McCourthy joins the Dolphins

The veteran became an unrestricted free agent and he will re-unite with former Patriots assistant coaches Brian Flores and Josh Boyer.

Jason’s time with the Patriots came to an unspectacular end. The trade that brought him in New England in 2018 was one of the best deals in league history.

Let’s go all the way back to March 2018.

The Cleveland Browns had a 0-16 season and tried to rebuild their roster from the ground up. They had to part ways with some of their successful and expensive players. McCourty was on this list. The team respected him and he was one of the best players in the terrible 2017. McCourty had a salary cap hit of $4 million and was set to enter his age-31 season.

These numbers didn’t play a big role in the decision but McCourty criticized Browns’ decision makers in an end-of-season press conference.

The Browns moved on from Jason and they made an official announcement on the decision.

The Patriots heard of the potential split and called the team to work on a trade deal. You know the rest. The McCourty twins worked really good together.
