Former Patriots DB Jason McCourty Reportedly Meeting With New NFL Team

Jason McCourty may be leaving the New England Patriots in order to join a new team. Several free agents will have to wait until after the upcoming NFL Draft to sign a new deal. McCourty will probably take a different route.

NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport revealed that the New York Giants hosted McCourty for a visit this week. Wonder why? New York and the McCourty twin are “exploring a possible move.” We may be witnesses of a big deal. McCourty is off to great things. He may try to finish his career somewhere else.

McCourty spent the past three years with the Patriots. He had 152 tackles, 19 passes defended, and two interceptions.

Head coach Bill Belichick was really busy in the offseason. He added players to the offensive line and also improved the defense. But, Belichick wasn’t the only busy person in the NFL. The Giants were busy, too. The team signed Kenny Golladay, Adoree’ Jackson, and Kyle Rudolph. Signing McCourty will be of great help for the team.

Jason McCourty has a new team on his list

New York may be a good option for McCourty. He will join forces with a former Patriots defensive back in the secondary. Logan Ryan has all the talent in this world. The McCourty twin will play for a coach who is well familiar with the “Patriot Way.” Joe Judge, remember? This makes things easier for both sides. Let’s see how will this work.

McCourty is also a New York native. He played college football at Rutgers and he will sure enjoy the homecoming for the champion-winning veteran.

If Jason signs with New York, he will have to separate from his twin Brother. Well, these two have already played on different teams, so this won’t be something new to them.

The Patriots would lose a big player but they have a roster filled with talent. Belichick brought players like Jonnu Smith and Hunter Henry. Kyle Van Noy is back, and the same applies to Dont’a Hightower. New England looks really great at the moment. They can move on from McCourty.
