Jason McCourty Ribs Brother Devin After Patriots Make Roster Move

The New England Patriots had to make some roster changes to fill up some of the holes on the field. Players went in and out and this time linebacker Calvin Munson joins the squad. The Patriots signed him off of the Miami Dolphins’ practice unit. They needed someone to cover up Harvey Langi as he ended up on injured reserve. Jason McCourty took notice of the transaction and decided to tease his brother.

Jason took to Twitter to share his thoughts on the transaction. His brother Devin will probably respond to this one.

“Sorry @calmunson that you gotta go play with Dev again lol congrats bro well deserved! (Jmac),” Jason tweeted.

Jason McCourty to challenge his brother and former teammate at the end of 2021

Munson was part of the Patriots practice unit in 2018 and 2019. The 26-year-old joined the Miami Dolphins as part of their 53-man roster. He measures at 6’1, 235 pounds and entered the league as a rookie free agent in 2017. The New York Giants were the first NFL team to give him a chance.

The fifth-year linebacker played in 14 games with five starts in his rookie campaign with the Giants. He finished the season with 55 tackles, two sacks, and one forced fumble. Munson started the 2018 season on the Giants practice unit before joining the Patriots practice squad. He spent most of the 2019 season with Bill Belichick’s team and went to Miami on Dec. 17. The linebacker saw action in all 16 games last season and began this year on Miami’s practice unit. Munson has played in 32 games with 7 starts and 44 tackles, two sacks, and one forced fumble.

Miami faces a huge challenge at the moment. They lost the sixth straight game on Sunday to the Atlanta Falcons. Brian Flores confirmed that the team placed Jason and Malcom Brown on injured reserve.

Jason and Devin won’t be playing on the same team this season but their family will support them both. Devin’s team has a better record at this point of the season and they will meet Miami in the final game of the regular season.
