Bill Belichick Shares Update On Two Newly Healthy Patriots Rookies

The New England Patriots won five straight games and they have a good chance to continue the winning streak. Players contribute to the great 7-4 record and things can only get better from now on. Two players returned to the field on Tuesday and head coach Bill Belichick provided an update on his rookies.

Linebacker Cameron McGrone and safety Joshuah Bledsoe had their first practice in the regular season. Both players ended up were out for a few months and they have yet to see real action with the team.

The linebacker treated an ACL tear. He suffered his injury last November and now he has a chance to do something good with the team. Bledsoe fractured his wrist in the 2021 Super Bowl. The safety was supposed to miss the entire 2021 season, but he has already started practicing with the team.

“They’ve worked really hard,” the Patriots head coach said Wednesday morning. “Worked really hard. I know they were excited to be out there (Tuesday), and it was good to see them out there. Get them out there and see how it goes.”

Head coach Bill Belichick to provide another update on his rookies

McGrone and Bledose didn’t miss any of the meetings or off-the-field activities this season. Belichick has great expectations from his young players and they earned his trust.

“They’ve done everything they can do,” Belichick said. “They’re just both coming off injuries that didn’t allow them to participate until this week.”

We don’t even know if both players will join the teammates on the field. They may not see real-game action this year. If Belichick doesn’t activate McGrone and Bledsoe within 21 days, they won’t be eligible to return until 2022.

Head coach Belichick did a good job in the 2021 NFL Draft. He selected a good group of players. Team owner Robert Kraft made him do a better job in the draft and Belichick follows the rules. The Patriots didn’t have much luck with their drafts in the last few seasons, but they look really good now.

Belichick and his players have to get ready for the next few games. That’s a priority right now
