Shaquille O’Neal Names The 1 Thing Lakers Need To Fix

The Los Angeles Lakers lost half of the regular-season games they played so far. Head coach Frank Vogel was without a few key players and this made things difficult for him. Vogel had to come up with a different rotation every other night. Keeping everything together was really hard. Four-time NBA champion LeBron James missed a lot of games, too. NBA icon Shaquille O’Neal knows that the Lakers can fix the problem and offered one simple solution.

It’s all about Anthony Davis. The Lakers big man plays a lot better than he did last season. He hasn’t missed too many games this season but it’s too soon to draw a conclusion. One thing stands for sure. O’Neal wants Davis to elevate his game. The same goes to Charles Barkley.

“Listen, Anthony Davis, you’ve got to play better,” Barkley said. “I said on the first night: if the Lakers are gonna be any good, it was all gonna be on you. Anthony Davis, you know I like you as a person, but you ain’t doing what you’re supposed to do.”

O’Neal knows the Lakers can fix the problem

The Lakers legend said the same. O’Neal knows that Davis has to play better if he wants to win the ring this year. The big man won one ring in the 2019-20 NBA season and that was his very first championship win. Want another one? Get better. Improve. Prove your worth. That’s exactly the message O’Neal delivered. It was more like a warning for Davis.

“Well Charles makes a great point, Mr. AD has to pick it up,” O’Neal said. “When you have a one-two punch, that one-two punch needs to be equal. We keep talking about LeBron and we all know LeBron is great, but Mr. AD has not played great. 19-percent from the three-point line is unacceptable for a player of his caliber. And the way he’s been playing is not acceptable.”

Davis has helped the Lakers win games without LeBron. He is a good leader after all. Will AD respond to O’Neal’s comments?
