Wild Proposed Trade Sends Star Shooter to Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers have a 12-12 record at this point and analysts have already made some bold suggestions. Fans aren’t really happy with the current situation and some of them would love to see Frank Vogel out of the team. There have been so many rumors about the team and one wild trade proposal links the Lakers to a shooter.

Russell Westbrook is first on the list. The newly-signed Lakers veteran has two seasons remaining on his five-year deal. He is set to earn $47 million in 2022-23. NBA teams won’t spend too much money on Westbrook at this point.

Wild trade proposal forces Lakers front office to part ways with many players

Bill Simmons discussed Westbrook’s trade on his podcast. He believes that C.J. McCollum would be a good fit for the Lakers. However, there’s zero chance for this to happen.

“So, I was just going through the teams, and I think it’s really hard to find a McCollum trade, too,” Simmons explained. “You end up taking on somebody else. I swear, I thought about this for a split second on Saturday night, then I was like, ‘No, no, no they’ll never do that.’ But I did think about Westbrook and McCollum in some sort of deal for a second.

“…I thought of it more from like watching Portland just lifeless and dead, and I was like, this would actually a good Westbrook team. He would come in, he would try to get a triple-double every night. He would really give a s*** and then L.A. could get McCollum. But there’s just no way, I don’t think Westbrook’s tradable.”

Westbrook won’t be the only player to leave the Lakers if this trade happens. They will have to give up on several assets because the Blazers won’t be happy with Westbrook as a sole option.

If you ask LeBron James, he will say that the team doesn’t need more moves at this point. He also responded to rumors surrounding Vogel. The four-time NBA champion knows that everyone has to do better on the floor. His teammates need to improve and stay healthy.
