Patriots to justify draft rumors

Why would Belichick host a quarterback? He got Mac Jones in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Jones led the team to a seven-game winning streak. The rookie did a better job than other rookie quarterbacks. The Patriots also gave Brian Hoyer another deal and he will continue working as Jones’ mentor. Jarrett Stidham’s situation is still marked with a big question mark.

Sources reveal that the Patriots may get another developmental prospect at this position. They could do this late in the 2022 draft or get an undrafted player.

King if a quarterback, but the Patriots may use him as a slot receiver. In his six seasons with Houston and Miami, King threw for 8,378 yards and 76 touchdowns to go along with 76 touchdowns and 19 interceptions. He also rushed 423 times for 2,055 yard and 32 TDs. Jones is another talented player. He measures at 5’8’’ and 174 pounds. In his final season in Houston, he had five interceptions and 13 passes defended. Lance Zierlein said he was a “shop-wrecking special-teams talent.”

In four years in college, Jones had nine return touchdowns and averaged 28.4 yards per kickoff return and 14.0 yards per punt return.

In 2021, Jones played at receiver and caught 10 passes for 109 yards and one TD.
