Russell Westbrook Gently Throws Contradictive Shade at Lakers Fans

Russell Westbrook threw shade at fans right after the Los Angeles Lakers lost the game to the New Orleans Pelicans. Yes, we know that he doesn’t really like to answer all the questions he gets from the media. Why did he even say this?

Lakers fans were really excited when their favorite team confirmed Westbrook’s arrival to LA. He was a nine-time All-Star and one of the most competitive players in the league. Well, things went terribly wrong and the trade didn’t work at all. Westbrook delivers good numbers but his performance is of no help for the team. The Lakers lost three players to get Broddie. They also let Alex Caruso go.

Westbrook’s performance made everyone angry. Fans started calling him names. Crowds chant “Westbrick” every time he makes the floor. Things heat up instantly and Westbrook doesn’t want his family to attend his home games. He doesn’t want his wife and kids to hear people disrespect his name. Westbrook felt really bad when the whole thing started. He didn’t let fans get inside his head. It doesn’t end here. In last night’s postgame press conference, Westbrook said he didn’t even pay attention to the crowd.

“What’s that like as a player to feel the crowd energy change as the game’s going on?”

“I don’t pay attention to this crowd, to be honest,” Westbrook said.

Well, he sure didn’t sound like someone who plans to stay in LA for a few seasons. Westbrook probably confirmed the strongest rumors so far. His comment about Lakers fans made everyone believe that he was actually announcing his departure from LA.

Westbrook had to confront a few players throughout his time with the Lakers. He had to listen to insults coming from heckling fans. Should we even add more to this?

The Lakers are out of the playoff picture this season. They have a 31-46 losing record and a few games left on the schedule. Does it get any worse than this? Let’s see what happens in the next couple of weeks.
