Report: Lakers Interested in Signing Bradley Beal

The Los Angeles Lakers showed interest in Bradley Beal long ago. He makes a good fit for the team and his experience could help the team overcome serious issues. Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka will be super busy this offseason. He hired a new head coach and now he has to make some more decisions. LeBron James and Anthony Davis will probably stay around for a few more seasons. Well, these two are lethal, but they didn’t play a lot together this past season. Both players sustained injuries and missed games.

Pelinka has to get another superstar or a few more key players who can make a change on the basketball court. Adding Beal is an interesting option for the Lakers. Will Pelinka finally make a move to get Beal? Kevin O’Connor discussed this topic on The Void podcast. According to him, the Lakers want Beal, but he may not be interested in signing with the team.

“The one name that I’ve heard recently is Bradley Beal as another guy that they want,” said O’Connor said. “I’m not sure if the interest is as mutual. You know Beal, it seems like Miami would be more of the threat to take him away from Washington. I don’t think you can also rule out Boston either because of his relationship with Jayson Tatum, but the Lakers are trying to angle for some moves like that using the Russ expiring and the ’27 and the ’29 firsts.”

Lakers may not manage to get Bradley Beal

Beal may also consider joining the Boston Celtics. He is friends with Jayson Tatum and this friendship could ease a potential trade.

The Lakers need someone who can help them turn into contenders. Beal fits the description, but he has a history of injuries. He played only 40 games last season, just like AD. The Wizards veteran averaged 23.2 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 6.6 assists per game.

The Lakers won’t have LeBron forever. He will leave the team at one point. Is Beal the next player to lead the franchise? We have so many questions right now.
