Former Patriots Nemesis Quarterback Got Cut

The Indianapolis Colts decided to cut ties with former New England Patriots nemesis quarterback Nick Foles on May 5. It’s the same quarterback who beat the Patriots in 2018.

Foles joined the Colts as their backup quarterback, but didn’t have a solid game. Many thought that Foles and former Eagles offensive coordinator Frank Reich would do wonders together, but it didn’t happen.

In the Super Bowl win over the Patriots, Foles was able to throw for 373 yards and three touchdowns. It was a bad loss for the Patriots and Tom Brady didn’t even shake Foles’ hand. He did again in 2020. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers played against Foles’ Chicago Bears.

The NFL world tried to make a situation out of it, but Brady didn’t even think of getting involved. He respects Nick and everything he has accomplished over the years.

“I’ve shaken Nick’s hand plenty of times, though. I’ve got a lot of respect for Nick,” Brady told the media after the Buccaneers defeated the Eagles in a 2022 Wild Card game. “I try to be a good sport as best as I can. I know it doesn’t always look like that because sometimes I get a little pissed out there, but for the most part, I try to be a good sport.”

Former Patriots legend Tom Brady and the nemesis quarterback have history together

These two have been around for a really long time. Foles will probably try to find a home somewhere else. He won’t be a starter and NFL teams could definitely offer him the backup position.

When it comes to Brady, he seems to be retired for good. Although there’s major speculation about his potential comeback, Brady seems to be find with his current life. He came out of his retirement to join the Buccaneers and won a ring in his first season with the team. Year 2 wasn’t that great and Brady decided to take a step back and call it career. He has a deal with FOX, but won’t start broadcasting games until 2024. What’s on his table right now? Another season? A movie?
