Patriots Player Faces More Than 30 Years In Prison

The New England Patriots could lose another talented player ahead of the 2023 NFL season. The police arrested Jack Jones at Boston’s Logan Airport on Friday and the Patriots player may get up to 30 years in prison.

The 25-year-old deals with legal difficulty following the shocking arrest. He was arrested for attempting to board an aircraft with two loaded firearms. Jones faces several charges, including possession of a concealed weapon in a secure area of an airport, possession of a firearm, carrying a loaded firearm, and possession of a large capacity feeding device, per police.

The Patriots cornerback will learn more about his legal fate on Tuesday when he will be arraigned on firearms charges at East Boston District Court.

Jones is in a terrible situation at the moment and it may further affect his future in the NFL. One thing stands for sure. The league doesn’t tolerate such behavior and Jones may have sealed his faith.

James Borghesani, a spokesperson for Suffolk District Attorney Kevin R. Hayden’s office, said that Jones faces “more than 30 years in prison” if “convicted and sentenced consecutively on each charge.”

Massachusetts State Police was called to the TSA security checkpoint in Terminal B at 5:30 p.m. Friday after employees found two firearms in Jones’ carry-on luggage. The Patriots player was taken into custody and then released on $50,000 bail.

Jones faces big challenge

Legal expert Michael McCann says these charges may have major implications on Jones’ ability to avoid prison sentence. McCann mentioned that Jones is charged with multiple serious offenses. He was carrying a loaded weapon at an airport…

The Patriots spokesperson didn’t reveal much information in the initial statement.

“We have been notified that Jack Jones was arrested at Logan Airport earlier today. We are in the process of gathering more information and will not be commenting further at this time,” a Patriots spokesperson said.

The Patriots player almost ended in prison in 2018

Jones has already had issues with the law. The police arrested him at a Panda Express in Santa Paula, California, for commercial burglary. He pled guilty and served 45 days of house arrest. This incident affected his stock in the 2022 NFL Draft.
