Veteran quarterback Cam Newton knows how to make a good headline, and this time he did that with his nicknames for J.J. Taylor and offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels. Newton likes to come up with new nicknames for his teammates. some of them already have new names.

During his press conference with media members following the 36-20 win over the Las Vegas Raiders, the starting quarterback revealed his nicknames for Taylor and McDaniels. Well, McDaniels’ nickname reveal was more like an accident.

Mickey D’s? We believe McDaniels won’t really like this. But, this doesn’t change the fact that McDaniels likes the new quarterback.

“He’s a smart football player,” McDaniels told media members. “Has played a lot of football. He’s seen a lot of stuff. You know, guys in our league, I think rarely have the type of success that a player like he has had in his past without understanding the game. He learns well.”

Let’s go back to the nicknames. Rex Burkhead is “The Torpedo,” and Taylor is “Small Fry.”

Cam Newton to come up with new nicknames

The New England Patriots won Week 3 against the Las Vegas Raiders. They are not on to the Kansas City Chiefs. It’s a road game for the team, and Kansas City is a big bite to swallow.

New England has had the most challenging games against the Chiefs. Hopefully, Newton will add some spice to his game.

In Week 3 at Gillette Stadium, Newton completed 17 of 28 pass attempts for 162 yards with a touchdown and an interception. This doesn’t change the fact that Newton played well in his first three seasons with the team. Bill Belichick liked his starting quarterback, and Newton has excellent chemistry with his teammates. You can tell that by the way, he named his teammates. And the offensive coordinator, of course.

Newton is ready to challenge his next rival, even if it comes in the shape of a Kansas City team.

The Patriots surprised many analysts, and it was definitely a positive surprise.
