Kendrick Bourne Shares Strong Take On Patriots QB Draft Prospects

The New England Patriots have great plans for their 2024 NFL Draft. They hope to get all the players they need to fill the biggest holes on their roster. New England needs a franchise quarterback and can also use some receivers and cornerbacks. Kendrick Bourne talked about the Patriots and their plans for the draft and did mention the best QB prospects. Will the team use the No.3 pick to get any of these players?

There are multiple scenarios regarding the Patriots’ third overall pick. According to Bourne, all quarterback prospects make sense for the team.

Bourne talked about all prospects in this year’s class. Caleb Williams will probably be the first to go. The Chicago Bears are expected to select him. Jayden Daniels will probably be the second overall and Drake Maye will go at No.3. Probably. In other words, the Patriots will be available to get him if they decide to use the No.3 pick. J.J. McCarthy will also be available.

Patriots have multiple options regarding their QB draft prospect

If you ask Bourne, he will say that Jayden was the first prospect that grabbed his attention. However, Drake provided great performance and has the right frame.

“I’ve been big [on] Jayden, but after watching Drake — I haven’t really watched J.J. — they’ve been giving him the Josh Allen comparison,” Bourne said. “He is 6-foot-4, 225. Got that build. He got that structure to handle — I thought he was like 6-foot-2, maybe 200 [pounds]. Nah, they say he 6-foot-4, 225, like big dog.

“He got something to him. I’m in between, bro. I’m really in between. J.J., too. He got that winning mentality. He’s been through the hard work. [Jim] Harbaugh, Michigan, he just got that mentality. I’m excited, bro, and just accepting whoever comes in, building that relationship immediately.”

Williams, Maye, and Daniels are considered to be the top 3 picks in the draft. McCarthy has a great potential and his numbers look really good on the draft boards. He can easily fit in the top 5 prospects.

Let’s see how this plays out. There are numerous options for the storied organization. The Patriots enter the most important draft in team history. They better play wise with the highest pick they’ve had in years.
