Watch: Sony Michel Shares Own Hype Video On Eve Of Super Bowl

Are you ready for some football? In less than 24 hours we’ll hear ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’, we’ll see the commemorative coin being flipped and Super Bowl LIII will officially be underway. The hype has already started, and videos have begun rolling out.

After Julian Edelman shared a “Growing Pains”-themed clip that featured throwback photos and videos of his Patriots teammates, Sony Michel followed with his own hype video on the eve of the Big Game.

Take a look:

Patriots rookie running back will see many familiar faces on Sunday, including someone very close to him on the other side of the field.

Michel was a teammate of Rams running back Todd Gurley for one season at the University of Georgia. According to Gurley, he taught Michel how to run and catch.

However, Michel’s talent was discovered long before he met Gurley. As an eighth grader, it was already clear Michel was special. His size and strength were admirable and helped him score 21 touchdowns and 1,730 rushing yards as a freshman.

Then, unfortunately, he tore his ACL and missed his sophomore season. He had a smaller load his junior year, getting only 130 carries, but he still broke the 1,200-yard mark.

As a senior, Michel returned to his successes, rushing for 1,840 yards and 24 touchdowns while eclipsing the 2,000 all-purpose yard mark.

As a rookie on the Patriots, he had 931 rushing yards and six touchdowns in 13 regular season games, but the playoffs were where he truly got to show his abilities.

In two games, he has 242 rushing yards and five scores.

Michel turned out to be a great late first-round pick, and he knows how fortunate he is to be part of the Patriots family. It didn’t take him long to pick up Belichick’s mantra as well.

“It’s been amazing knowing that I can come here and be able to learn a lot,” Michel said. “I just think I’ve been able to come in and be another guy that’s willing to do their job.”

Are you excited as we are? Who do you think will score first? Who will be Super Bowl MVP?
