This NFC Team Reportedly Could Trade Up With Patriots To Get Drake Maye

The New England Patriots have been linked to several prospects in the 2024 NFL Draft. They can get pretty much every QB prospect and it all depends on their preferences. The Patriots have the No.3 overall pick and yes, at least one of the best quarterback prospects will be available by the time they make a pick. According to several reports, a NFC team can contact the Patriots regarding their top pick. The ultimate goal? Trade up and get Drake Maye. Will the Patriots let Maye go somewhere else? Are they even interested in signing him?

Maye has been turning heads with his pro day performance. He is one of the better QB prospects in this year’s draft.

The Patriots hosted the North Carilina prospect for a pre-draft visit. They like what they see and head coach Jerod Mayo had great words for Maye. This may go against reports suggesting that New England is not really a fan of his skill set.

Patriots to let Maye go?

The Washington Commanders have the No.2 pick in the draft. They can get either Maye or Jayden Daniels. NFL execs claim that Washington general manager Adam Peters could make a surprising last-minute call and change scenarios.

If Peters gets Daniels, the New York Giants could make a move and trade up the draft in order to snatch Maye. Ralph Vacchiano from FOX Sports discussed this potential scenario. The Giants have yet to make comments on Daniels and J.J. McCarthy. They can easily pass these and try to get Maye.

The Giants gave Daniel Jones an extension last offseason, but may leave him out. If they decide to part ways with Jones, they will have to get one of the highest picks in this year’s drafts.

Many analysts compare Maye to Josh Allen which makes the Giants scenario even more realistic.

Let’s see what happens on the first day of the 2024 NFL Draft. Teams are already making calls and calculations.
