Patriots Owner Robert Kraft Addresses Horrific Maine Shooting

Terrible catastrophe struck Lewis, Maine. At least 18 people died in the mass shooting and 13 others were admitted to a hospital to have their injuries treated. Patriots head owner Robert Kraft delivered a statement following the Maine shooting, sending his thoughts and prayers to the families of all victims.

New England mourns the death of all the innocent people who died Wednesday night.

“The senseless act of violence that unfolded last night in Lewiston, Maine has left all of us across New England in shock and mourning,” the Patriots owner wrote in his statement. “My heart goes out to the families, friends and loved ones of the victims, who are dealing with unimaginable pain and loss. Let us remember the victims, honor their lives, and continue to fight hate and violence in order to prevent these horrific tragedies.”

Kraft, NFL world address Maine shooting

Robert Card, 40, started shooting at a bowling alley and a bar really close to Lewiston. According to Maine Public Safety Commissioner Mike Sauschuck, the suspect had already spent time in a mental health facility this past summer and said he was “hearing voices.” Jordan Freiman and Brian Dakss from CBS News released the first details about the shooting.

Schools shut down in the area and the police was actively searching for the suspect. All victims were admitted to local hospitals to receive treatment for their condition. People in Lewiston and other counties in Maine were advised to seek shelter during the investigation.

The NFL also held a moment of silence for the victims of the Hamas’ attacks and teams will probably do the same for the victims of the Maine shooting. The Patriots will confront the Miami Dolphins in Week 8 and they will probably hold a moment of silence for the innocent people who lost their lives.

It’s sad how dozens of people die just because of someone’s ill intentions. We send our thoughts and prayers to the families in Maine!
