Patriots Veteran Drops Bold Claim On DeVante Parker Hit

Referees made things really challenging for the New England Patriots in the game against the Miami Dolphins. It was a tough battle and Patriots wide receiver DeVante Parker absorbed a hit in the helmet in the third quarter of the game. NFL analysts agree that refs made some questionable calls against Bill Belichick’s team.

The Patriots were already losing the game when this happened. Of course, players keep trying to win until the end, but the Patriots had a 24-10 record at that point. Players had the ball on a second-and-10 situation from the 47 and quarterback Mac Jones found the wide receiver for a score. Elliott jumped in and Parker lost the bowl.

It looked terrible and Parker left the game. What did refs do? Ruled it as an incompletion. If you ask Matthew Slater, he will say that Elliott didn’t really get away with this. He even claims that the NFL will fine the player for the hit.

“I think he’ll end up getting fined for that play,” Slater said in the locker room after the game. “When they go back and watch it, they’ll probably end up fining him.”

Patriots agree on Parker hit, Jones takes full responsibility

Patriots players talked about the hit and they all agreed that Parker had suffered an ugly hit.

“Yeah, definitely,” center David Andrews said. “I don’t think you ever want to see someone go down. I’m not sure what they’re looking for and certain things. I hope DP (DeVante Parker) is alright. Unfortunately, it’s just a sad part of the game, injuries. But DP is a tough great pro, and I really appreciate him.”

Jones took the blame for the injury, claiming that he was actually the one who put Parker in this position.

“Yeah, I mean, it’s football and it’s a bang-bang play,” Jones said. “But I hate seeing that when you’re the quarterback, it’s the worst feeling in the world. You can’t put someone in that position. I feel like that’s a tough bang-bang play.”
