Shocking Patriots Trade Rumor Sends Bill Belichick To NFC Foe

The New England Patriots have been advised to make a few trade moves to improve the roster, but no one could ever imagine that one of these proposals sends head coach Bill Belichick to a NFC rival.

Many claimed that Belichick was in the hot seat after the slow start of the season. However, the Patriots reportedly gave him a nice deal. Team owner Robert Kraft hired Belichick over two decades ago and gave him two main roles. Coach B is also the general manager for the Patriots. Why would the Patriots trade him? Do they even consider doing anything like this?

The latest trade rumor links Belichick to Washington. According to Mike Florio from Pro Football Talk, the rumor spread over the weekend.

“I heard something over the weekend,” Florio said on his podcast, “PFT Live,” “and I’ve been trying to think of the best way and the best time to talk about it. And it’s not a ‘report.’  Look … you hear certain things that make you say, ‘Whoa, hmm, that’s interesting.’ And what I heard over the weekend from someone I know and someone I trust that made me say, ‘Whoa, that’s interesting’ is the possibility that the end result for the Commanders is a trade with the Patriots for Bill Belichick.”

Patriots would try to get something in return in Belichick trade

This trade scenario would make the most shocking headlines in NFL history. Yes, the Patriots struggle to make the big game and haven’t made the Super Bowl for a few seasons, but Kraft wouldn’t let Belichick go that easily.

The Patriots have a 2-6 record at this point of the season. Things didn’t go well for the team and Mac Jones seems to have another disappointing season.

Florio made a few strong remarks. He believes that the Patriots won’t really fire Belichick. They do want to get something in return rather than just let him go.

“It’s a reminder: You’re not just going to be able to go hire Bill Belichick,” he said. “If you want him, you gotta deal with us. We have his contractual rights for multiple years, we’re not gonna fire him. We’re going to wait for someone to call us up and offer us something for him, we’re going to get back what we gave the Jets to get him. We’re gonna get back value for this asset, even if we are done with him.”
